Our Services
Occupational Therapy
Empowering children to build independence and thrive in their daily lives is the focus of our Occupational Therapy services. We support children aged 5 to 18 years, helping them develop essential skills to navigate home, school, and community environments confidently.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children develop the physical, sensory, and cognitive skills they need to participate in the meaningful activities of daily life. Whether it’s improving motor coordination, managing sensory sensitivities, or building independence in self-care tasks, our OT services are tailored to meet each child’s unique needs and goals.
Areas of Focus
Our Occupational Therapy services address a variety of developmental areas, including:
- Fine and Gross Motor Skills: Improving hand-eye coordination, handwriting, balance, and overall body movement.
- Sensory Processing and Integration: Helping children understand and respond appropriately to sensory input (e.g. touch, sound, or movement).
- Visual Motor and Visual Processing Skills: Supporting tasks like reading, copying from the board, or navigating a classroom environment.
- Self-Care and Independence: Teaching skills such as dressing, feeding, toileting, and managing personal hygiene.
Our Approach
We take a personalised, child-centred approach to ensure each therapy plan is as unique as the child we’re working with:
- Assessment: A comprehensive evaluation, including case history, formal assessments, and observations in natural settings like home or school.
- Individualised Plans: Tailored intervention strategies to support the child’s specific needs and goals.
- Collaboration: Working closely with parents, carers, educators, and other professionals to ensure consistent support across environments.
- Environment Modifications: Recommending adjustments to home, school, or play settings to promote accessibility and independence.
Specialised Services
Our Occupational Therapy team offers specialised services such as:
- Sensory Assessments: Evaluating and addressing sensory processing challenges.
- Motor Coordination Programmes: Helping children build strength, coordination, and confidence in physical activities.
